EVERY PLANT YIELDING SEED...FOR FOOD

     Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant
     yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, 
     and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall
     be food for you" -- 1:29 

ADAM'S RIB

     So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon
     the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs
     and closed up the flesh at that place. The LORD
     God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had
     taken from the man, and brought her to the man. 
     The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, And 
     flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman,

ABRAHAM'S BLESSING

     country, And from your relatives And from your
     father's house, To the land which I will show you;

     you, And make your name great; And so you shall 
     be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you,
     And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you
     all the families of the earth will be blessed." -- 12:1-3

THE SACRIFICE OF ISAAC

     Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, "My 
     father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." And he
     said, "Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the 
     lamb for the burnt offering?"  Abraham said, "God
     will provide Himself the lamb for the burnt offering,
    my son." So the two of them walked on together. 
     -- 22:7-8

JACOB'S LADDER

     He had a dream, and behold, a ladder was set on the 
     earth with its top reaching to heaven; and behold,
     the angels of God were ascending and descending
     on it.  And behold, the LORD stood above it and said,
     "I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham
     and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie, I will
     give it to you and to your descendants.  Your
     descendants will also be like the dust of the earth, 
     and you will spread out to the west and to the east 
     and to the north and to the south; and in you and in
     your descendants shall all the families of the earth 
     be blessed. Behold, I am with you and will keep you 
     wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land;
     for I will not leave you until I have done what I have
     promised you." -- 28:12-15

JOSEPH'S DREAM

     Now Joseph had still another dream, and related 
     it to his brothers, and said, "Lo, I have had still 
     another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon 
     and eleven stars were bowing down to me." -- 37:9

     The LORD was with Joseph; and whatever he did, 
     the LORD made to prosper. -- 39:23

GOD WITH JOSEPH IN EGYPT

     Now do not be grieved or angry with yourselves, 
     because you sold me here, for God sent me before
     you to preserve life. For the famine has been in the 
     land these two years, and there are still five years in
     which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. 
     God sent me before you to preserve for you a 
     remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive by a
     great deliverance. Now, therefore, it was not you 
     who sent me here, but God. -- 45:5-8

     He said, "I am God, the God of your father; do not
     be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you
     a great nation there. I will go down with you to Egypt, 
     and I will also surely bring you up again." -- 46:3-4

THE BLESSING OF JUDAH

     Judah is a lion's whelp; From the prey, my son, you
     have gone up. He couches, he lies down as a lion, 
     And as a lion, who dares rouse him up?  The scepter
     shall not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler's staff from
     between his feet, Until Shiloh comes, And to him 
     shall be the obedience of the peoples."  -- 49:9-10

GOD MEANT IT FOR GOOD

     But Joseph said to them, "Do not be afraid, for am I
     in God's place?  As for you, you meant evil against 
     me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about 
     this present result, to preserve many people alive.
